Hi guys! A bit of a long post, sorry in advance!
I’m new to dating…
Brief description of me: F, mid 20s and I’m a wheelchair user.
This year I downloaded hinge and bumble but I’ve hated it. You match, conversation doesn’t go anywhere and sometimes I wonder if it might be due to my disability. I understand it isn’t fair nor helpful to immediately come to that conclusion (I’m never going to get the answer + it’s better to not waste time with someone who doesn’t like you). But they’re just some thoughts that sometimes come up…. Can anyone relate?
Also, it’s something I’m discussing in therapy and I’m getting lots of help from my therapist on this issue :).
Anyways, recently i downloaded Breeze and that’s been a better experience! I’ve gone on 2 dates already, and although they haven’t gone beyond the first date, I’m so proud of myself for putting myself out there 🥹. I used to dream of having enough confidence in myself and go on dates, and now here I am, doing it 🥳🤏🏻🤏🏻.
I’ve got a date this Friday and I wanted to ask for advice/ tips? If you’re in a relationship, or have a better dating experience than me lol, what did your first dates feel like? Were there small things that made a difference over time?
Also if anyone here has a disability, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences with dating too?!
I’m trying to stay positive and keep putting myself out there, but I’d really appreciate hearing honest experiences and a bit of encouragement. It helps to know I’m not alone 🤍 thank you :).
